Blockchain platform partners with Metis Management Consultancy in UAE
Blockchain-based business management platform KoreConX has entered into a partnership with Middle East SME advisors Metis Management Consultancy.
Established in the UAE in 2014 by founding partners Nayef Shahin and former EY and KPMG employee Hassan Safi, Metis Management Consultancy provides services in business planning and business strategy development, performance improvement, implementations, and finance and tax planning among other areas, with a specialist focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the MENA region.
A member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid establishment for SME development, with Metis selected last year to provide follow-up support services for innovation funding recipients, the home-grown boutique will in partnership with KoreConX provide specialist advice for organisations intending to issue a fully compliant Security Token Offering (STO) in multiple jurisdictions using the protocol.
“We always strive to provide companies with high-quality consulting services and access to the latest tools,” said Metis current Managing Partner Shahin of the partnership agreement. “It is only natural to partner with KoreConX, a team with a deep understanding of compliance, securities regulations and the one to create the only protocol that is fully tracked on chain through their transfer agent service.”
With office in the US, Australia, Peru and the UAE, KoreConX was founded in 2016 as the world’s first ‘highly-secure permissioned blockchain ecosystem for fully-compliant tokenised securities worldwide,’ with its AI-based blockchain platform managing the ‘full lifecycle of tokenised securities including the issuance, trading, clearing, settlement, management, reporting, corporate actions, and custodianship’.
The firm’s MENA director Edwin Lee, a former PwC Senior Associate in Canada, said; “Blockchain plays a crucial role in everything that we do at KoreConX. Dubai is taking this technology to the next level, by planning to make the city fully powered by Blockchain by 2020. Dubai is the place to be when advancing into new technologies and Metis is the company that shares our high standards when it comes to providing companies with the best advice.”
With the agreement, Metis becomes part of the firm’s ‘KorePartner’ ecosystem, which is a global network of selected organisations such as broker-dealers, capital markets platforms, lawyers and accounting firms among others which support the KoreConX security token protocol, including other recent additions Evoke Capital of Canada, Bellotti Capital, Australia’s SME Brokers, and investment compliance firm CrowdCheck Law in just the past few weeks.
