Long-time Strategy& partner Paolo Pigorini joins Middle East team

Strategy& Middle East has welcomed a new partner: Paolo Pigorini, who transfers from the firm’s Swiss branch where he served as head of strategy.

The Middle East branch of PwC’s strategy arm Strategy& has added some extra punch with the addition of consulting veteran Paolo Pigorini to its Government and Public Sector practice. Bringing more than 25 years of strategic consulting experience to the region, Pigorini transfers to Strategy&’s Middle East team from his most recent stint in Switzerland, where he led the local strategy practice.

A partner with the firm for the past twenty years, Pigorini has been with Strategy& and its predecessor Booz & Co since 1991, recruited from Credit Suisse First Boston where he worked while completing his MBA with the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School – complementing an earlier BSc in Economics with the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Prior to his eighteen-month stint in Zurich, Pigorini served in Strategy&/Booz offices around the world, including in London, Paris and Milan, but most notably in Brazil. With Booz & Co’s Rio de Janeiro office dating back to at least 2008, Pigorini served as managing director for South America and as a member of the Global Board of Directors to 2011, ultimately elected a senior partner in 2014.

Having also headed up the firm’s Organisation and Governance practice in South America, with a focus on business, governance and organisational model programmes, Pigorini has over his career advised numerous large-scale public and private sector clients across multiple industries, including in particular the energy and resources (especially oil & gas), industrials, and telecoms and media sectors.

Boasting a broad range of functional competencies, including board governance, transformation and change programmes, organisational functioning effectiveness, and structural performance improvement, Pigorini – who is fluent in Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and English – has already been active in the Middle East, having executed the governance design for the set-up of a strategic regional entity
