Kuber Rai joins Baker Tilly’s Corporate Finance practice
Hot on the heels of installing a new Advisory leader, Baker Tilly has strengthened its Corporate Finance practice with Kuber Rai, a veteran in the investment and dealmaking scene.
Kuber Rai is an international banker and investment professional with 25 years of experience gained at a Big Four (in EY’s Transaction Advisory Services practice, early on in Rai’s career), at banking institutions (HSBC, India’s ICICI Bank and First Abu Dhabi Bank) and at investment houses (among others at Dubai’s GII Capital, where he was the chief financial officer).
Experience under his belt includes working on mergers & acquisitions including deal origination and planning, financial due diligence, tax advisory and transaction support; overseeing millions in private equity / family office assets under management; and leading the setup of new banking entities in several jurisdictions including Libya, Singapore, India, Qatar and the UK (at First Abu Dhabi Bank).
Rai also has a wealth of consulting experience, having led several digitisation, process re-engineering, performance management, merger-integration, and change management initiatives across various geographies. His clients included the likes of American Express, Coca Cola, McDonalds, Hilton, Mitsui and Toshiba.
Appointed a senior partner, Rai now leads Baker Tilly’s Deals practice across the Middle East. He is based in the firm’s Dubai office.
“With his vast banking, deals and consulting experience, Kuber will be a huge asset to Baker Tilly in the Middle East,” said Mago Singh, the company’s Managing Partner for the region, who last week also expressed his delight on welcoming Rajesh Menon to the firm.
Globally, Baker Tilly has 37,000 employees generating to the tune of $4 billion in fees. The network is led by US-based chairman Alan Whitman, and Netherlands-based chief executive Ted Verkade.
