Ankura promotes Kassem Younes to senior managing director
Dubai-based Kassem Younes has been elevated to senior managing director at Ankura as one of a record number of promotions made by the global consulting firm.
Ankura has made 17 Senior Managing Director promotions worldwide, with Kassem Younes one of only two senior promotions made outside the US (the other being Liam Healey in Australia) , in what was the largest round in the firm’s history.
Younes, who has been with the consulting firm for four years, specialises in commercial disputes, both in litigation and international arbitration, as well as forensic accounting.
A Chartered Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, Younes’ track record includes being appointed as an accounting expert witness on numerous cases involving the quantification of damages in contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, and transaction related disputes.
He has also led onsite teams in conducting large and high-profile financial investigations and forensic reviews in various sectors across the Middle East and North Africa region. These included a variety of cases involving corruption, kickbacks, money laundering, embezzlement, asset misappropriation, and financial statement fraud.
Earlier in his career, Younes spent nine years at Deloitte in its Financial Advisory Services practice, based in the United Arab Emirates. He joined the Big Four firm in its Beirut office, having enjoyed his childhood years in Lebanon.
