Bittner previously spent more than a decade at Accenture, working from the firm’s offices in Europe, Singapore and most recently Dubai. During his tenure, he among others led the Digital and Technology Strategy business in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and the same practice for the Germany, Austria, Switzerland region.

Earlier, Bittner spent twelve years at Capgemini Invent (then: Capgemini Consulting) and four years at KPMG in its Advisory wing.

His track record includes leading the global digital strategy development at a leading tire manufacturer in Japan, driving technology strategy and implementation including cost reduction at a global life sciences company, leading an IT carve-out during a mega merger in the life sciences industry, and leading the post-merger integration planning of a retailer and a cement company.

“Oliver has advised CEOs and senior policy makers in Europe, Asia and the Middle East on critical technology strategy questions, and has worked closely with CIOs and management teams to design, execute, and scale complex technology-led business transformation programs,” said De Waele.

“He will team-up closely with other Partners across our sector teams to ensure we embed bold yet practical technology thinking in all strategic solutions we bring to our clients, and will play an instrumental role in bringing the best of Bain’s global digital and technology practice to our regional flagship clients.”

The appointment comes shortly after Bain & Company committed to go carbon net-negative this year (removing more than 100% of its 2021 scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions) – becoming the first of the industry majors to take its sustainability target to this level of ambition.
