Members of the firm’s Middle East branch – Mohamad Kabbara, Dalius Budvytis and Oliver Carter – have been named among a record number of FTI Consulting senior managing director promotions.

Professional services firm FTI Consulting has kicked off the new year with a trio of new senior managing directors in the Middle East.

Forensic & Litigation expert Mohamad Kabbara and corporate finance specialists Dalius Budvytis and Oliver Carter of the firm’s Dubai office join a record 64 such promotions worldwide, with FTI’s Middle East senior leadership count boosted to around 20 professionals.

“Congratulations to our newest senior managing directors,” said FTI Consulting president and CEO Steven Gunby said of the record number of appointments, which slightly eclipsed last year’s tally of 59 including two in the Middle East. “These promotions reflect the outstanding contributions each individual has made to our clients and our firm as well as our ongoing commitment to recognise and invest in our next generation of leaders.”

Mohamad Kabbara has been with FTI for just shy of a decade, but has over three decades of experience within the construction industry as a civil engineer, project and planning manager, delay analyst and expert working on large-scale projects such as airports, power plants, commercial and residential buildings and transport infrastructure. With FTI, he has served as a disputes and litigation expert on cases spanning the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen.

A member of FTI’s Capital Advisors investment banking subsidiary with a focus on the TMT sector, Dalius Budvytis joined the firm upon its acquisition of industry specialist Delta Partners in mid-2020, having been with Delta Partners for over seven years across two stints. In-between, Budvytis spent three years with Roland Berger, while earlier in his career he spent seven years as a member of PwC’s Transactions and M&A team in Russia and the CIS.

Oliver Carter freshly joins FTI Consulting’s corporate finance senior leadership team in the Middle East from the firm’s UK branch, where he has spent the past eleven years as managing director. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Carter served for six and a half years with Duff & Phelps. Altogether, he brings close to two decades of restructuring experience to FTI Consulting’s Dubai office, including work in change management and conducting independent business reviews.

Restructuring & Corporate Finance

FTI Consulting’s restructuring and corporate finance division accounted for more than half of the firm's worldwide promotions. “We continue to invest in and promote talent so we are able to better assist our clients with their financial, operational and strategic goals,” said practice global co-leader Michael Eisenband.

“Congratulations to our newest senior managing directors, whose dedication to helping clients in times of distress strengthens FTI Consulting’s position as a market-leading firm.”

Last year, FTI Consulting was named on the Middle East’s leading Restructuring consulting firms by ConsutlancyME.
