Global operations and supply chain consultancy Argon & Co has boosted its leadership team in the Middle East with Stefan Westdijk.

Based out of the firm’s Abu Dhabi office but with a remit across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the Dutchman brings more than two decades of experience in management consulting to the role.

Westdijk has been operating in the region for close to decade, and joins Argon & Co from Big Four firm EY, where he was a partner and Technology Transformation Leader for the MENA region. Before that, he spent over a decade at EY, Capgemini Invent and Deloitte in the Netherlands.

Yvan Salamon, the CEO of Argon & Co, said that Westdijk’s arrival comes in response to heightened demand for the firm’s services in the region. Headquartered in Paris, 500-strong Argon & Co advises clients around the world on operations, supply chain and procurement. With supply chain disruption increasingly taking hold of sectors and companies, the firm is seeing a growing number of clients turn to its expertise for guidance.

To accommodate its growing portfolio in the Middle East, Argon & Co last year added a second office to its footprint.

“Stefan’s appointment comes at a time of continued growth for our firm in the Middle East,” said Salamon. “His arrival strengthens our positioning in the market and grow the team’s expertise to meet current and future market requirements. I am delighted to welcome Stefan to Argon & Co and look forward to him being an important part of our ambitions.”

With dozens of projects under his belt, Westdijk specialises in supply chain management, digital transformation, operating model transformation, customer-centric initiatives, and technology implementation. His track record extends across various industries such as the public sector, manufacturing, smart cities, logistics, hospitality, and aviation.

Commenting on his move to the specialist player, Westdijk said: “What drew me to Argon & Co was their unwavering pursuit of excellence. From their focus on operational strategy and performance improvement to their innovative approaches to organisational change and digital engineering, every aspect of the business is geared towards achieving sustainable results for clients.”

Meanwhile, outside of the Middle East, Argon & Co recently acquired a company in Australia (hot on the heels of another deal in New Zealand), and launched a new office in Brazil.
