Commenting on the Nafis award, Abdalrahman said that he is “deeply honoured” to be recognised in a field where he is “dedicated to making a positive and sustainable impact.”

Held for the first time this year, the Nafis Awards provide prizes to companies and individuals that are a shining example of the UAE’s Emiratisation strategy. Abdalrahman was named the ‘Best Emirati Talent’ in the Finance category.

Notably, Abdalrahman received the award in the presence of UAE’s two most influential leaders: President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Both leaders attended the ceremony of the Nafis Awards, a competition run under the patronage of Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE and Chairman of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council.

“Receiving this award from our beloved President is the highest honour for any UAE national, and I look forward to being a continued part of the UAE’s success story and supporting the nation’s growing aspirations,” said Abdalrahman, who also took the time to thank his employer PwC for providing a strong base for his personal and professional development.

“Working at PwC has provided the right avenue to grow my skills, leverage regional insights with global deal experience across diverse sectors, and work alongside a passionate community of solvers who support their clients in delivering excellence. I am grateful to PwC for creating an empowering environment and their unwavering commitment to nurturing future Emirati leaders.”

Commenting on Abdalrahman’s individual success, Khaled Bin Braik, a partner at PwC and the firm’s Emiratisation Programme Leader, said: “We are immensely proud of Abdalrahman’s well-deserved recognition from the UAE leadership for his outstanding accomplishments and contribution to our firm in the region.”

Across its 14 offices in the GCC, PwC has over 1,200 GCC nationals under employment, including over 120 Emiratis. Aligned to the UAE’s Emiratisation strategy, the firm is doing heaps and bounds to ramp up opportunities for Emiratis.

“Empowering and enabling local talent to develop their leadership capabilities is a key strategic priority at PwC, and we are confident that through our upskilling and leadership development programmes, we will continue to build the next generation of Emirati leaders in the region,” concluded Khaled.
