CBRE appointed as consultant for new landmark tower in Bahrain
Bahrain’s Future Generation Reserve Fund has selected CBRE as its property manager and leasing consultant for its forthcoming ‘Future Generation Reserve Tower’.
Slated to open for businesses later this year, the Future Generation Reserve Tower is already billed as one of Bahrain’s most iconic buildings. Strategically located on the waterfront, overlooking Bahrain Financial Harbour and Bahrain Bay, the 38-floor building will contain around 63,000 square metres of space for offices, food & beverage outlets, and other modern facilities.
Notably, the Future Generation Reserve Tower is among Bahrain’s most sustainable business buildings to date, becoming the first tower to be granted LEED-certified status in the Kingdom.
Appointed the exclusive property manager and leasing consultant, CBRE will manage the property on behalf of the Future Generation Reserve Fund.
“We are honoured to be working with the Future Generation Reserve Fund and Bahrain’s Ministry of Finance and National Economy on the new Future Generation Reserve Tower. The property will become a new landmark in Bahrain Bay and will open up significant prospects for the Kingdom’s real estate sector,” said Richard Botham, Senior Director at CBRE and General Manager of Bahrain.
“It is particularly exciting that the project is registered to be LEED-certified, as ESG has become an essential consideration for corporates when selecting their office accommodation. We look forward to managing the property in accordance with international standards and best practice that will reflect the aspirations for this market-leading project in Bahrain.”
According to media reports, interest in the tower is high, with international groups and national champions said to be eyeing moving into the office space.
For Bahrainis, the Future Generation Reserve Tower has an architectural design they can closely identify with. The tower’s façade has been inspired by the Bahraini Flag or ‘Al Biraq’, which is symbolized as the strong leadership of Bahrain with the citizens around them heading to the future.
The Future Generation Reserve Fund is a sovereign wealth fund established in 2006 with the remit to strengthen Bahrain’s long-term investment management. The fund is aligned to Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, a country-wide strategy that aims to lift the economic and societal prosperity of Bahrainis.
