150 Saudi students enjoy BCG's Jeel Tamooh launch event
The 6th edition of Boston Consulting Group’s Jeel Tamooh program is underway, with over 150 Saudi students having commenced their six-month learning journey at a kick-off event.
Jeel Tamooh provides students with training on topics including management consulting and strategic problem-solving, and enables them to gain practical experience on consulting projects while receiving counsel and professional mentoring from consultants at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
Held on May 4th in Riyadh, the kick-off event comprised interactive workshops and dynamic discussions with various industry experts, covering themes such as digital innovation, climate resilience, artificial intelligence (and generative AI), and sustainability.
At the event, several BCG consultants provided in-depth insights into how it is to work in the consulting industry. During a panel event, Vladislav Boutenko, Managing Director and Senior Partner at BCG, moderated discussions around topics such as important strengths and the top skills required for success in consulting, advice for future leaders, significant takeaways from their consulting experiences, and realistic expectations versus surprising elements of consulting life.
Nalini Kothari, Project Leader at BCG, led a session titled ‘We are on a race to Net Zero? What does Net Zero really mean?’, covering the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies and sustainable urban planning.
Annika Melchert, Principal at BCG, presented a real-life case on how Boston Consulting Group is helping its banking clients in the Middle East with driving technology change, including digital strategy and generative AI.
Reflecting on the kick-off event, one of the Jeel Tamooh participants, Sarah Alfageeh, said: “As Saudi Arabia is going through a complete digital transformation, I understand that knowing AI and its applications will be a highly valuable and transferable skill. I am enthusiastic about learning more about this topic throughout the program, gaining practical insights from BCG consultants, and developing the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to our nation's digital future.”
“Jeel Tamooh provides a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth, which will take my learning and practical application to the next level.”
Akram Awad, Partner at BCG, stated: “I am deeply impressed by the enthusiasm and caliber of our participants. This program has consistently drawn some of the brightest minds within the Kingdom, providing them with a platform to hone their skills and prepare for impactful careers. Witnessing their growth and development reaffirms our commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders. I am confident that this edition will continue our tradition of excellence and achievement.”
