A partner in the Middle East business of Kearney, Chiara Riffaldi reflects on her 8+ years at the strategic consulting firm, her key projects and achievements, and how Kearney continues to help her grow and achieve her ambitions.
After graduating with an industrial engineering degree, Chiara Riffaldi spent the initial years of her career in industry roles in Europe’s automotive and retail sectors before finding a home in management consulting. “Exploring new topics and sectors has always been a key factor in my career,” she says, “so moving to consulting was a natural choice.”
Early 2015, Chiara crossed to Kearney, becoming a member of the team in the UAE.
At Kearney, Chiara is today a partner and leader in the Strategic Operations practice, supporting clients through industrial development, especially initiatives supporting the region’s economic diversification and driving localization of key industrial capabilities and manufacturing.
In a recent engagement, she worked with a federal government to design the national policy and plan to establish research and development capabilities. “I loved being part of the ambitious program and contributing to the economic shift from being oil-dependent to knowledge-based,” she says.
Chiara also helps industrial groups with topics including strategic sourcing, operational optimization, manufacturing excellence, and procurement transformation. “In a region that’s fundamentally transforming and establishing more manufacturing, operations is becoming a more strategic function across sectors.”
On working at Kearney, Chiara highlighted how “every project is a challenge, meaning I always can look forward to learning new things and supporting the growth and capability-building of clients.”
In the near-decade she has been working and living in the GCC, Chiara has first-hand witnessed the unprecedented wave of transformation and progress the region has undergone. “Being part of the many extraordinary transformations the region is experiencing, and working with clients to ultimately make an impact on people’s lives, helps me feel like we have a bigger purpose.”
