Global management consulting firm AlixPartners has welcomed Stephan Essig to its leadership team in the Middle East.
Appointed a Partner & Managing Director, Stephan Essig brings extensive experience in performance improvement, technology, and strategic consulting to AlixPartners. He also has experience in topics such as restructuring, foreign direct investment, organizational transformation, post-merger integration, national-level strategy development, target operating models, and mergers & acquisitions.
Throughout his career, Essig has managed more than 100 consulting projects for a wide range of clients in sectors such as logistics & transportation, foreign direct investment, maritime, public sector, technology, media, telecommunications, healthcare, agriculture, free zones, wealth funds, and financial services.
Based in the Middle East since 2019, Essig has worked across Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other key locations in the GCC.
“With his deep expertise and track record, Stephan is uniquely positioned to help us further expand our footprint across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region,” said Gabriel Chahine, Middle East Market Leader at AlixPartners. “His ability to build strong teams and lasting partnerships perfectly complements our commitment to collaboration and growth.”
Headquartered in the United States, AlixPartners is one of the globe’s leading management consulting firms. In the region, the firm operates with offices in Dubai and Riyadh – and is eying growth, mainly in the GCC states.
“The GCC represents both an exciting and fast-evolving market, and Stephan’s leadership and strategic vision will be key in delivering impactful solutions that benefit both our clients and the firm,” Chahine stated.
Before joining AlixPartners, Essig was a Senior Partner and Managing Director at Roland Berger in Qatar. He played a driving role in establishing the firm’s presence in the country, growing the office from its inception to a sizeable team of consultants. Earlier, he worked for Roland Berger in his native Germany, and spent years working in the restructuring business of Andersch (now part of FTI Consulting) and KPMG.
”I’m thrilled to join AlixPartners and contribute to the firm's growth and success in the Middle East,” Essig said. “The region presents immense opportunities, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to build on the firm's strong foundation and drive sustainable growth for our clients.”
