Mobile operator Ooredoo has selected FP7 McCann as its marketing and communications partner for the coming years, with the collaboration aimed at promoting its services and elevating its brand experience in the Qatari market.

Headquartered in Doha, Ooredoo already is the market leader in Qatar, providing mobile, wireless, wire line, and content services to businesses and consumers. The company also has millions of customers outside of its home base, across the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.

The multi-year partnership with FP7 McCann, which won a competitive pitch process vis a vis well-known rivals, will see Ooredoo work with the external agency to drive consumer engagement, strengthen brand equity, and support business growth through impactful campaigns and initiatives. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

“We looked for a partner who could combine creative vision with a deep understanding of our business and customers, and FP7McCann brought both the strategic expertise and creative energy we need for the next chapter. Their strong regional presence and proven track record across diverse markets made them a natural choice for this next phase of our brand journey. We’re looking forward to what we’ll build together,” said Mohamed Kabbani from Ooredoo.

Originally from Lebanon, FP7 McCann is nowadays one of the region’s larger players in the marketing and communications scene, with 14 offices across 14 countries. The engagement with Ooredoo will be led by its Doha office.

As part of the mandate, FP7 McCann will oversee end-to-end communications across Ooredoo’s portfolio. The scope includes brand and marketing strategy development, integrated creative campaign ideation and execution across physical, digital, social, and experiential platforms, digital marketing and content creation, social media management and planning, full-scale production across TV, radio, digital, and out of home.

Commenting on the win, Moustapha Mikaty, General Manager at FP7 McCann in Doha, said: “Ooredoo is one of the most recognised and respected brands in the region, and we’re proud to support their next chapter with brand-building ideas that deliver tangible business results. Our focus will be on combining data, creativity, and cultural insight to drive deeper customer engagement and measurable impact.”

Last year, Ooredoo was named one of the world’s top performing telecom companies by Boston Consulting Group, a global strategy consulting firm.
