Detecon delivers AI insights at Gulf thought leadership initiatives

Detecon, a leading global consulting firm, has in recent weeks delivered two thought leadership initiatives focused on the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).

In partnership with SafetyHeads, Detecon convened senior leaders from across the Gulf Cooperation Council to share insights on the practical challenges of implementing AI. The discussion took place against a familiar backdrop: while investments in AI are soaring, measurable results often remain elusive – or in some cases, entirely absent.

The event was attended by several of Detecon’s Middle East leaders, including Falk Schrder, Dan Dimitriu, Ulrike Eberhard, Youssef El Ouariachi, and Roman Solovij.

The focus was clear: AI is no longer just a strategic ambition – it must now deliver tangible business outcomes. Drawing on extensive experience guiding enterprises through AI adoption, Detecon’s team outlined best practices for bridging the gap between ambition and execution.

“As AI initiatives move from isolated use cases to enterprise-wide deployment, the translation into measurable business value remains inconsistent,” the firm’s experts noted. “In most cases, this is not due to technological limitations. The real challenge lies in prioritization, integration, and leadership alignment.”

In other words, organisations cannot rely on technology alone. Success requires preparing processes, ways of working, and people for AI adoption.

Another key insight from the discussion: AI should be embedded directly into core business processes, rather than treated as an add-on capability.

“Many organisations still approach AI as a layer on top of existing structures rather than using it to rethink how work is actually done,” the team explained. “As a result, initiatives remain fragmented, pilots are scaled without clear impact, and value creation falls short of expectations. The key lesson is to integrate AI into processes, workflows, and culture in a way that creates sustained value.”

AI in the data centre landscape

Two weeks prior, Detecon delivered a similar briefing to leaders in the Gulf’s data centre sector, delivered in person by Hammad Hussain. The session explored how Saudi Arabia can build the large-scale infrastructure needed to meet growing AI demand, including high-density compute environments, next-generation cooling systems, resilient supply chains, robust cybersecurity, and compliance with data sovereignty requirements.

Hosted by the Gulf Data Centre Association, Hussain emphasised that success depends on the interplay of investments, engineering, infrastructure, and governance. “As AI in the Kingdom moves from vision to execution, this transformation is not just about technological progress. It represents a strategic opportunity to help shape sustainable, high-performance AI ecosystems aligned with Vision 2030,” Hussain said.

Headquartered in Germany, Detecon has offices around the world. Its award-winning Middle East business operates with offices in Dubai and Riyadh.
