Detecon leader Falk Schröder shares insights at Arab-German Business Forum
At the Arab-German Business Forum, leaders from Germany and the Arab world came together to discuss trends, opportunities, and the future of economic partnership between the two regions. At the event, Falk Schröder – Senior Partner at Detecon – shared his insights on the role of digital infrastructure and connectivity in driving sustainable growth and strengthening resilience.
The Arab-German Business Forum is one of the leading annual platforms for economic dialogue between Germany and the Arab world, bringing together government representatives, business leaders, investors, and industry experts to promote trade, investment, and strategic partnerships.
Held in Berlin and organized by the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this year’s forum revolved around the theme ‘Beyond Transformation: Intelligence, Innovation, and Impact’. Discussions focused on key topics shaping the future of business and society, including artificial intelligence, industrial transformation, energy, healthcare, sustainability, and geopolitical challenges.

Detecon’s delegation to the event was spearheaded by Falk Schröder, a recognized expert in telecommunications, digital transformation, and the development of new digital services across the public sector landscape. Drawing on his experience advising organizations and governments, Schröder contributed perspectives on digital innovation and infrastructure.
During a panel discussion, Schröder shared his views on how organizations and governments can strengthen digital trust, cyber resilience, and economic security in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape. The conversation with other executives highlighted a central message: sustainable competitiveness is built not only through technological innovation, but also through trusted digital ecosystems, resilient supply chains, and strong international partnerships.
“Connectivity is the backbone of digital innovation and economic growth. Ensuring its resilience and security is just as important as protecting data centers and digital services, particularly in light of recent crises that have exposed vulnerabilities across critical digital infrastructure,” he said.
The discussion came at a time when digital infrastructure is emerging as a critical success factor for the digital economy. While Germany has long been recognized for its leadership in the field, countries across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are rapidly advancing their digital transformation agendas, investing heavily in next-generation connectivity, smart cities, artificial intelligence, and digital public services.
As businesses and governments on both sides continue to pursue digital transformation, collaboration between Germany and the Arab world will play an increasingly important role in developing secure, innovative, and future-ready economies.
