Detecon leaders join high-level German business delegation in Kuwait
In early November, a senior-level delegation of German business leaders – including leader from Detecon – travelled to Kuwait to exchange knowledge and explore new business opportunities.
Organised by the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry – an organisation that promotes and coordinates economic relations between Germany and the Arab world – the three-day trade delegation took place from November 3–6, 2025.
The programme featured a series of high-level engagements, including ministerial meetings with government officials and discussions with private sector executives. These interactions focused on strengthening bilateral trade ties, expanding investment flows and fostering innovation-driven partnerships across the Gulf region. Key sectors of focus included energy, water infrastructure, manufacturing, health, digitalisation, urban development, and infrastructure.
Among the highlights of the visit were a high-level meeting at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce & Industry, participation in the EU-GCC Business Forum in Kuwait City, and company visits to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority.
During these sessions, participants exchanged perspectives on innovation, digital infrastructure and the regulatory frameworks supporting sustainable business growth.
Detecon’s participation
Detecon, a leading German-origin consulting firm, was among the participants in the trade delegation. The firm was represented by Middle East managing partner Falk Schröder and partner Christian Dietze.
Reflecting on the visit, they said: “It was an excellent opportunity for Detecon to engage in meaningful dialogue with key local stakeholders. We held insightful discussions on digital transformation and the role of AI-driven solutions in shaping the future of business.”

Detecon specialises in digital transformation and brings deep expertise in sectors such as telecommunications, ICT and the digital economy – areas that are experiencing strong growth in Kuwait, Schröder and Dietze noted.
“The visit underscored Kuwait’s commitment to building a more digitally advanced and diversified economy, with the ICT market expected to grow from $22.5 billion in 2023 to nearly $40 billion by 2028. This creates compelling opportunities for Detecon to contribute our expertise in innovative strategies and business transformation.”
In the coming period, Detecon plans to build on the relationships established during the visit and explore further collaboration opportunities. In the Middle East, the consulting firm operates from offices in Dubai and Riyadh, while globally it has a presence in 18 offices across four continents.
Kuwait’s economic momentum
The trade delegation took place against the backdrop of Kuwait’s growing economic significance. In 2025, the country’s GDP expanded by a solid 1.9 percent to $153 billion, supported by an ambitious reform agenda under Vision 2035, which aims to diversify the economy and stimulate innovation-led growth.
Germany is a key economic partner for Kuwait. Bilateral trade between the two countries is about €1.6 billion, according to figures from the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
