Detecon and Red Sea Global co-deliver AI Fundamentals Training programme

Detecon and Red Sea Global have teamed up to deliver an AI Fundamentals Training programme. More than 330 professionals from across the region participated, gaining insights into the power of AI and how they can harness the technology to enhance their work and roles.

Led by Adam Mazouz from Detecon, the session took participants on a journey from the fundamentals of artificial intelligence (AI) to structured prompt writing for generative AI, as well as the principles of responsible AI use. Attendees came from a wide range of backgrounds, including engineers, data scientists, entrepreneurs, students, job seekers, and public sector professionals.

Participants joined from across the region, including Umluj, Tabuk, Al Wajh and Dubai, with a high proportion of Saudi nationals. More than seven in ten attendees were under the age of 35, signalling strong interest from the next generation in embracing and leading with AI.

During the three-and-a-half-hour session, participants not only gained insights but also practical takeaways they can apply directly in their own work contexts.

Notably, the most important takeaway was not technical. Mazouz emphasised that in a world evolving faster than any curriculum can keep pace with, curiosity is the most valuable asset. “The willingness to ask, to try, to fail, and to try again – curiosity is the engine of personal growth and skills development,” he said. “Curiosity paves the way for what’s next: the ability to learn and apply with confidence.”

Reflecting on the event, Mazouz said Detecon is proud to contribute to the future-proofing of skills in the Red Sea region. “When 330 people show up to learn the fundamentals of AI, that is not just attendance. It is a community eager to invest in its future.”
