The Sports Consultancy to help shape discussions at Sports Investment Forum 2026
Global sports advisory firm The Sports Consultancy (TSC) is on board as a Business Partner of the upcoming Sports Investment Forum to be held in Saudi Arabia from the 20th of April.
Now into its second edition and described at the world’s largest event of its kind, the 2026 forum will bring together sports sector leaders and investors for three days of workshops and sessions in Riyadh, with The Sports Consultancy on hand to help shape discussions.
Headquartered in the UK with further outlets in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Singapore, The Sports Consultancy supports governments, federations, host cities and other event stakeholders on their strategic, commercial and legal requirements related to sport and entertainment.
This year celebrating its 20th anniversary, the award-winning consultancy was co-founded in 2006 by chief executive and America’s Cup champion Angus Buchanan, who is scheduled to participate on a 2026 forum panel discussing the power of sport and city innovation, bringing insights from the firm’s previous involvement in landmark projects across the Middle East and beyond.
Other guests on the panel, one of dozens covering every major contemporary topic from sports science, female participation, and mental health through to economic drivers and the advent of AI, include local sports & wellbeing initiative leaders Abdulmajeed bin Abdulrahman Alaskar, Deputy Minister of Municipalities and Housing for Privatization and Financial Sustainability; Salman Al-Khattaf, Advisor to the CEO of the Quality of Life Program; and Majed Magdy, CEO of Wadera Company.
Buchanan and his fellow speakers will explore how innovation and data-led planning can shape sustainable, sports-minded cities – exploring international models, the role of public-private partnerships, and what it takes for sports infrastructure to deliver lasting social and commercial returns, not just event-day impact. A crucial discussion with the Kingdom positioning itself as a world leader – while giving reference to other international models of sports city development and their integration with urban infrastructure.
The inaugural event, aligned with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision and an initiative of its ambitious sports ministry, resulted in millions of dollars worth of fresh financing announcements, including as to sports medicine, marketing, digital tech, and performance analytics, as well as triggering the launch of a local manufacturing project aimed at providing parts for stadium infrastructure.
The Sports Consultancy will meanwhile bring its two decades worth of commercial experience in sports and event panning to the table, backed by a 50-plus team of professionals, with the firm having previously worked on numerous engagements covering everything from the NFL, NHL, and motor racing in the US to women’s rugby, basketball, padel, and soccer in Europe.
