Bain & Company welcomes four new partners in Middle East business
Global strategy and management consulting firm Bain & Company has welcomed four new partners to its leadership team in the Middle East.
Mohamed Bassiouny is a member of the Energy & Natural Resources practice, with more than 13 years of consulting and industry experience across the Middle East.
He advises energy clients on their most critical strategy and transformation priorities across the value chain, including segments such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, utilities, renewables, and capital-intensive infrastructure. He has supported clients across a range of topics, including growth strategy, capital project performance, operating model and organization design, sustainability, and the energy transition.
Mohamed has also advised on national energy strategies and broader economic priorities, including localization initiatives, supporting clients on agendas with significant institutional and economic impact. Prior to joining Bain & Company, he held engineering and leadership roles in Egypt’s renewable energy sector, where he helped develop, commercialize, and deliver solar energy solutions.
Mohamed holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor in Petroleum Engineering from The American University in Cairo (Egypt).
Barron Berenjan is an expert in machine learning and big data analytics. He has extensive experience building and deploying statistical and machine learning models as well as advising clients on data science capabilities across various industries including financial services, retail and aviation.
Prior to joining Bain & Company, Barron worked at Emirates, where he specialized in developing predictive models to tackle complex challenges in operations, customer experience and loyalty.
He holds a Master in Information Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester (UK).
Marc Hochar is a member of the Financial Services practice. He has worked with many of the leading banks and insurance companies in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman. His work primarily revolves around strategy, digital, transformation programs and operating model redesign.
He has helped several institutions in the region with setting up new financial entities, launching digital-native challengers, and the development of new value propositions.
Prior to joining Bain & Company in 2014 as a junior, he gained consulting experience at Boston Consulting Group and Accenture.
Marc graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris in 2012 and achieved his MBA from INSEAD Business School in 2017.
Akash T. has been with Bain & Company for seven years. After joining the firm in its London office from L.E.K. Consulting in 2020, he recently relocated to Dubai where he became a member of the partner team. Earlier in his career, he also served Monitor Deloitte in its Australian business.
Akash is a member of the Private Equity practice and advises investors, sovereign wealth funds and corporate clients across corporate strategy, fund strategy, mergers & acquisitions and commercial due diligence (CDD) engagements. He has a focus on the venture capital and growth equity sector in the Middle East, having advised many of the leading funds and companies in the space across a range of deal and strategy related topics.
Akash also has extensive expertise in value creation, including in areas such as pricing strategy, sales force effectiveness, merger integration and business transformation.
He has completed an MBA from London Business School (UK) and a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business from Monash University in Melbourne (Australia).
