Várri Consultancy strengthens its commitment to the UN Global Compact principles

Várri Consultancy has published its 2026 Communication on Progress (CoP) under the United Nations Global Compact, demonstrating its growing commitment to responsible business conduct and ESG principles.

The Dubai-based boutique advisory firm – which specializes in governance, risk, compliance and business advisory – joined the UN Global Compact two years ago and has since developed its business practices to align with the UN’s 10 principles covering human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption.

“The UN’s principles are relevant to Várri Consultancy because responsible business conduct is part of how advisory work should be governed, delivered, and improved,” said Johnny Kollin, Managing Director of Várri Consultancy. “Sustainable development is closely linked to the judgment, trust, and accountability required in advisory work.”

Covering the reporting period from July 2025 to June 2026, the 2026 Communication on Progress shows how Várri Consultancy is honoring its commitments and providing an update on the firm’s continuing efforts to integrate the UN’s principles into its strategy, governance, policies, and day-to-day operations.

“The Communication on Progress helps us assess our progress against the commitments we have made. It also gives clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders a clearer view of the investments Várri Consultancy is making in responsible business conduct. When choosing advisers, clients should consider rates and credentials alongside the standards, judgment, and incentives of the people they rely on,” stated Kollin.

The highlights

The Communication on Progress shows that Várri Consultancy continued strengthening its governance and ethics framework, including through the adoption and implementation of a Code of Conduct and Ethics covering human rights, labor rights and decent work, environmental responsibility, and anti-corruption.

The Code applies to the firm’s own operations and sets expectations for individuals working for or on behalf of Várri Consultancy. It also includes provisions relevant to suppliers, clients, partners, and other business relationships.

Várri Consultancy also reported on the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence as an emerging topic relevant to its activities and client engagements.

In terms of environmental governance, the Communication on Progress shows that Várri Consultancy has adopted an Environmental Policy and continues to develop an environmental management framework informed by the UN Global Compact and the principles and requirements of ISO 14001:2015. The framework addresses resource consumption, waste, pollution prevention, biodiversity, climate-related considerations, and responsible environmental management.

As with other consulting-based businesses, the environmental impact of Várri Consultancy is primarily indirect and relates to resource consumption, business activities, and value-chain impacts.

Looking at anti-corruption and business integrity, Várri Consultancy maintains an anti-corruption compliance framework. Its Code of Conduct and Ethics includes provisions relating to anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, anti-money laundering, sanctions compliance, fraud, tax evasion, and the reporting of concerns.

“We also apply risk-based due diligence to counterparties and business relationships and seek to promote ethical business conduct through our policies, procedures, contractual arrangements, and business relationships,” explained Kollin.

Continuing its impact

Looking ahead, Kollin said that the consulting firm will continue to prioritize governance, environment, and anti-corruption in the coming year, including through further policy development, improved transparency and accountability, responsible environmental practices, and ethical business conduct.

“Our approach is to manage these topics in a proportionate and evidence-based way, with responsibility assigned at the highest level of the firm and a focus on continuous improvement.”

In 2025, Várri Consultancy was named among the Top Consulting Firms in the Middle East for the third consecutive year.
