Tax and legal association Andersen Global has expanded its Middle East footprint with collaboration agreements in both Israeli and Palestine. Fellow tax network, Taxand, has also added a new member firm in Israel.

After signing a sting of deals in the Middle East over the past year or so, international tax and legal association Andersen Global has further expanded its presence in the region, with Lipa Meir & Co of Israel and Ramallah-based law firm Sharp & Beyond for Legal and Investment Consulting Services entering into collaboration agreements. Fellow global tax organisation Taxand has also welcomed an Israel member, Herzog Fox & Neeman.

Lipa Meir & Co.

Founded in 1987, Lipa Meir & Co is home to more than 80 legal professionals (including 30-plus partners) specialised in a wide range of civil, corporate and commercial legal services, including corporate law, litigation & dispute resolution, M&A, banking & finance, and capital markets & securities among others. Last year, The Legal 500 ranked the firm as top-tier in two practice areas for the EMEA; healthcare and life sciences, and restructuring and insolvency.

“Lipa Meir & Co. is committed to and routinely delivers legal services of the highest caliber, and we constantly strive to expand our service offerings,” said Alon Pomeranc, Lipa Meir & Co’s Office Managing Partner. “Our goal is to act as a one-stop shop for our clients, and the opportunity to collaborate with Andersen Global allows us to do so by giving our clients the resources of a global firm while maintaining the highest of professional standards.”

Meanwhile, a week prior, Andersen Global also formalised a collaboration agreement in Palestine, with Ramallah-based law firm Sharp & Beyond – marking Andersen Global’s debut in state. A full-service law firm specialized in a diverse array of sectors, S&B was established in 2017 and today has a team of twelve legal and investment professionals including four partners. The firm is led by managing partner Suhaib Al-Sharif.

“After meeting with Rana, Suhaib and the team, it is evident they possess in-depth knowledge of the market and display a commitment to stewardship, independence and transparency,” commented Mark Vorsatz, Andersen Global Chairman and Andersen CEO. “Collaborating with Sharp & Beyond puts us ahead of the curve and benefits our organisation now and long term as it builds upon our growth strategy in the Middle East and positions us for the future.”

Herzog Fox & Neeman

The additions to Andersen Global follow closely on the heels of Taxand announcing its own new member firm in Tel Aviv; Herzog Fox & Neeman, which along with 380 lawyers is home to over 50 tax advisers covering all areas of international tax, including transfer pricing, corporate tax, indirect tax, M&A and private equity. Together with new members in Belgium and Japan, the near forty-year-old Israeli firm was one of three additions to Taxand, taking its global tally to 50.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to be welcoming three strong firms to the Taxand family. The addition of these leading businesses is the next step in our efforts to ensure that we have the depth, breadth and quality of independent tax services in the key countries and regions that our clients both need and demand,” said chairman Frederic Donnedieu de Vabres, describing the desire of the firms to join Taxand as “a testament to the quality and reputation of our service."
