Four graduates on KPMG Bahrain’s Jassim Fakhro Fund program

KPMG’s Jassim Fakhro Professional Development Fund program supports local talent in Bahrain with completing their professional accreditation in their respective fields. Four recent graduates of the program share their experiences.

The Jassim Fakhro Fund was established in 2001 (named after the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain Jassim Fakhro) with the ambition to support the professional development of young talented Bahrainis. Participants that are admitted into the program receive financial support towards completing a professional qualification of their choice. They also receive coaching and mentoring from more experienced colleagues.

Over the past two decades, over 170 Bahraini professionals have completed the program, with total investments recently surpassing the $2 million barrier. Commenting on the achievement, Jamal Fakhro, Managing Partner of KPMG in Bahrain, said: “We are very pleased with the impact we have achieved through the program, and are proud of our graduates’ progress whether they choose to stay with the firm or decide to grow their careers elsewhere in the future.”

They reflect on their journey and how it has helped them advance their career:

Ebrahim Mubarak: “I am grateful for the support I received from the Jassim Fakhro Fund towards my ACCA qualification, while also engaging me as a full-time employee at KPMG in Bahrain.  It was not an easy task, but I did it with the support of everyone around me; including my family, friends, the management team and my team!”

Majeda Ali: “I am very grateful for the support I received from the Jassim Fakhro Fund towards my CPA certification, and the opportunity to be a member of the KPMG family. I would like to thank everyone around me who provided me with constant support and encouragement, including my family, friends, and the KPMG family.”

Mustafa Mohamed: “An investment in learning pays the best return. KPMG in Bahrain continuously stands by this belief which is demonstrated by their support towards young Bahrainis pursuing their professional certification through the Jassim Fakhro Fund. A warm thanks to the firm’s leaders and all my colleagues who have all supported me during my CPA journey.”

Shehab Ahmed Nass: “Learning does not have a limit when you believe in yourself and your dreams. I am very grateful for being a member of the KPMG family. A great big ‘thank You’ to the firm’s leaders and all my colleagues for their ongoing support. Without their help, along with the financial support received from Jassim Fakhro Fund, I would not have been able to achieve this critical milestone in my professional life.”
