Gözde Yalazı Özbek new leader of BCG's Istanbul office
Boston Consulting Group has appointed a new leader of its Turkish organisation: Gözde Yalazı Özbek.
The new Office Leader of the Istanbul office has been with the global strategy and management consulting firm since 2008, when she joined Boston Consulting Group in its Frankfurt office. Four years down the line, she transferred to the Istanbul office, where she has been based since.
Over the past decade, Özbek has grown BCG’s ranks to Managing Director & Partner, and currently is a member of the firm’s Global Advantage; Industrial Goods; and Marketing, Sales & Pricing practices.
Özbek is the lead for joint ventures and alliances within the Global Advantage practice globally, and is part of Global Advantage leadership team. From an industry perspective, she focuses on clients in the industrial goods sector, and is part of BCG’s Industrial Goods leadership team for the Central and Eastern Europe plus Middle East region.
In addition, Özbek has deep expertise in corporate strategy, transformation, organisational excellence, turnaround, and commercial excellence.
She steps into the shoes of Burak Tansan, who re-joined BCG in 2010 to establish the Istanbul office. Under his leadership, the office has established itself as one of the leading strategic consultancies in Turkey. Tansan has meanwhile transitioned to the role of Chairman of the Turkish organisation.
Other Managing Directors & Partners based in the Istanbul office (which is based in Kanyon offices, one of Istanbul’s most prestigious office buildings) are: Aslı Kurbay, Aykan Gökbulut and Cenk Sezginsoy. The partner team leads a group of around 70 consultants.
