Accredited consulting firms for cyber security services in Qatar
Qatar’s National Cyber Security Agency has unveiled its latest list of accredited service providers for information security consulting and implementation services, with eight professional services groups coming through the rigorous process.
Issued by the Compliance and Data Protection (CDP) department, the National Information Security Compliance Framework (NISCF) is an accreditation framework for consulting firms that work within the State of Qatar.
While there is no requirement for government agencies or other organisations to work with accredited service providers, the CDP does endorse these players as they have “a proven track record in providing information security consulting and implementation services”.
As a result, according to the website of the National Cyber Security Agency, accredited service providers can provide “great benefits and reassurance to customers” across sectors.
The accreditation is given to advisory companies who successfully come through a thorough process which sees the CDP assesses compliance against a set of NISCF requirements and best practices, including on quality, performance, track record, technical expertise, and competence.
At the time of writing, eight professional services groups are accredited: Deloitte, PwC, Mazars, Excelledia Quality Consulting, EY, OISSG Consultancy, Protiviti, and Ahmed Tawfik & Co.
As part of a continuous improvement cycle and vetting process, the Compliance and Data Protection department re-assesses accreditations every three years.
According to analysis by BuddeComm and Deloitte, the cyber security market size in Qatar is currently worth $1 trillion, but fast growth will see the sector grow by 12.7% annually to reach $1.6 trillion in 2026.
Cyber security is the practice of protecting systems, networks, data, devices, and programs from any malicious digital attacks. Ensuring digital assets are secure is important for any organisation, in particular for those that are mission-critical to an economy or that deal with highly sensitive information.
