BrazilJohnny Kollin named a top leader in the solar energy sector
Johnny Kollin, the founder of a boutique management consultancy, has been named one of the leading figures in the Middle East’s solar industry.
Thirteen individuals – all leaders at companies active in the energy sector – have been recognised for their excellence at the ‘SolarQuarter Grand Masters Middle East Awards’, held last night at Le Meridien in Dubai.
The winners were selected based on their proven track record in the sector, and the excellence they have demonstrated during the past year. Winners come from across the landscape, from solar power generation and distribution to suppliers of products and services including engineering, technical and consulting.
The chief of Várri Consultancy, Johnny Kollin, was among the group of winners, taking home the award for ‘Excellence in Corporate Advisory Leadership’.
According to the jury report, Kollin has “successfully positioned himself as a risk management thought leader and corporate advisor in the UAE.”
Commenting on his recognition, Kollin said: “I am proud and honoured to be among all these great industry leaders recognised.”
“The renewable energy sector, particularly solar energy, is one of the key areas of focus for Várri Consultancy. Building on our experience in the financial services industry, we have progressively transferred risk management best practices and know-how to our clients, contributing to sustainable growth and greater attractiveness to investors.”
Following a long career in investment banking, Kollin launched Várri Consultancy in December 2020. The Dubai-based consulting firm helps clients with advancing their risk management strategy and operations, with a focus on small and mid-sized companies.
Other winners at the SolarQuarter Grand Masters Middle East Awards include: Excellence in Technology Leadership – Ahmed Ali (Executive Director at ACWA Power), Armita Bayat (Country Manager at Tek Solar), Sanjeev Vangapally (Vice President Operations at Nextracker), Arif Iqbal Aga (Director at SgurrEnergy), Laurent Longuet (CEO at Siraj Power), and Mahabir Sharma (CTO at AMEA Power).
