Knight Frank strengthens senior team in Egypt with Omar Hazem

Knight Frank has strengthened its senior team in Egypt with Omar Hazem, who has been poached from rival JLL.
UK-headquartered Knight Frank is a major player in the Middle East’s real estate sector, but in Egypt, the firm is still a relatively new kid on the block. Knight Frank only stepped foot into the Egyptian market in August of last year when it opened its inaugural office in Cairo, joining the likes of global counterparts such as CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL, and Savills who already were active in Egypt.
James Hodgetts, Partner at Knight Frank, said that the arrival of Omar Hazem underscores the firm’s strategic focus on the Egyptian market, and its ambition to expand its occupier and landlord services in the nation.
Hazem brings over 10 years of experience in the corporate real estate sector, specialising in helping occupiers and landlords with managing their portfolios, conducting financial projections, and the delivery of real estate services and solutions. His key sectors of focus include corporate real estate, serviced offices, industrial and logistics, and retail.
Prior to joining Knight Frank, Hazem held several senior roles at JLL in Egypt, including Head of Offices and Business Space and Head of Tenant Representation. He also served as Manager of Tenant Representation, where he further developed his expertise in advising clients on their real estate needs. Additionally, he worked as a Senior Analyst in Retail & Portfolio Management, where he built his foundation in corporate real estate.
Hazem also gained experience in industry, having been seconded to a major financial institution in Egypt, where he deepened his understanding of the operational aspects of the corporate real estate cycle, shaping and maintaining the client's portfolio through close collaboration with commercial and business teams.
“I’m thrilled to join Knight Frank, a global leader in real estate consulting. This is an exciting time for the Egyptian market, and I look forward to bringing my experience to support our clients in navigating their real estate challenges, optimising portfolios, and driving long-term value. I’m eager to work with such a dynamic team and contribute to the firm’s continued growth,” said Hazem.
Hodgetts stated: “We are excited to welcome Omar to our team. His track record, particularly in leading major transactions and advising on portfolio strategies, aligns perfectly with Knight Frank’s commitment to delivering exceptional service. His deep understanding of both the local market and the needs of corporate occupiers will enhance our ability to provide innovative, tailored solutions to our clients.”
