When a Gulf-based company sought to assess its workforce’s AI readiness, it engaged management consultancy RightFoot to identify skills gaps and develop a targeted improvement plan.

With the rapid emergence of artificial intelligence, many organizations face an urgent question regarding who in their workforce is ready for these new roles and who requires further training. Traditional human resources tools often lack the visibility needed to assess this readiness or to design targeted learning paths in such a fast-changing environment.

A need for upskilling

Facing this need, the Gulf company brought HR consultancy firm Rightfoot on board. The firm utilized OpusAnalytics, its talent management data analytics platform, to access and map both technical and soft skills for each job across the entire workforce.

The analysis identified which employees have baseline digital readiness, determined which roles need specific upskilling related to artificial intelligence, and highlighted which departments are best positioned for automation or innovation. “By using structured skill libraries and real-time employee data, OpusAnalytics recommends job related gaps that align with both organizational and individual goals,” explained Somaya El Sherbini, founder of RightFoot.

In this specific case, the client used the platform to assess AI literacy across various departments. Within weeks of the assessment, the Gulf company launched targeted learning programs and job related AI skill gaps. This approach allowed the organization to accelerate its transformation without relying on guesswork.

The results

The impact of the collaboration was significant. The organization was able to identify capability gaps at scale far more quickly than before. “Upskilling efforts became data-driven rather than generic,” said El Sherbini.

The company is now better positioned to uplift the capabilities of its internal teams for the rollout of AI. This strengthens strategic workforce planning and reduces reliance on hiring new talent for roles requiring AI-savvy skills.

As the regional company’s chief human resources officer noted, the transformation is about unlocking potential that already exists within the workforce, with OpusAnalytics acting as a critical enabler of insight and action.

The work with RightFoot also improved coordination around AI usage and the skills required to support it. Many organizations are finding that employees are already using AI tools individually; putting formal structures in place around skills development and governance is therefore essential to optimize adoption while maintaining ethical use.
