Bauer Aviation Advisory appoints former Boeing leader Bernard Dunn

In May last year, Bauer Aviation Advisory launched its Advisory Board. Meet the sixth industry heavyweight to now join the Board: Bernard Dunn, the former President of Boeing in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

Dunn’s credentials indeed make him one of the more well-known figures in the region’s aviation scene. Between 2017 and 2020, he was named among the Middle East’s Top 100 Executives and Top 50 Business Leaders for four consecutive years by US magazine Forbes.

The industry veteran owes his reputation to a career spanning more than four decades, three of which he spent living and working in the Middle East. His spell in the region started through a military career in Jordan, Yemen, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and The Pentagon, with combat experience alongside Arab Forces in Kuwait, and separately in Iraq.

Dunn then transitioned to the corporate world, and served ITT Defense (now L3Harris) and Boeing for a decade each. At L3Harris, he latterly was a Vice President of Business Development for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, and at Boeing, Dunn spent six years at the helm of the company’s Middle East, Turkey and Africa division.

During his tenure, Dunn oversaw $140 billion in commercial sales (list prices) and $55 billion in defence sales, before stepping down from his role late last year. He left Boeing’s regional division four times the size (headcount) when he was flown into the top seat.
