TransformationX welcomes Johan Persson to team as senior advisor
TransformationX has welcomed Johan Persson to its team in the role of Senior Advisor.
“We’re delighted to have Johan join us,” said Arun Bruce, founder and chief executive of TransformationX. “Johan is a multi-faceted senior executive who has donned many hats – as an executive, entrepreneur and start-up founder, and operations expert. We can’t wait to bring his vision and skills to our clients.”
Throughout his career, Persson held several leadership roles in the food, technology and manufacturing sectors. Most recently, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Pure Harvest, a homegrown technology-enabled agribusiness.
In his role, Persson led all supply chain activities (customer service, planning, procurement, warehouse and logistics), packing operations, maintenance and the technology team across the company. Among his major contributions are leading the launch of the Al Ain and Saudi facilities, and overseeing the integration of a large farm acquisition in 2022.
Prior to that, Persson spent five years at taxi app Careem, among others as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Culture and Engagement for the Engineering division. “I was responsible for the engagement and happiness of all 500 software engineers across three countries and four locations.” During his tenure, employee satisfaction jumped markedly.
Persson also led the scaling of Careem’s customer service operation, which grew from from 10 agents to over 150 agents in the 2015 to 2018 period. Today, Careem is a unicorn, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uber after being acquired for $3.1 billion early 2020.
Earlier in his career, Persson held roles in supply chain and operations at glass manufacturer NGS Group.
“Johan's visionary thinking, team-building prowess, and boundless energy make him a true inspiration. His expertise in operations, customer experience, and supply chain management has made a significant impact on the technology, transportation, and agriculture sectors,” said Bruce.
Commenting on his appointment, Persson reflected in a post on LinkedIn: “The past period has been an insightful fusion of learning and contribution. Drawing from my previous experiences, it’s been rewarding to integrate those lessons into my endeavours at TransformationX. The journey so far has reaffirmed my belief in the power of collaboration and strategic transformation.”
