Gulf Medical University and Knight Frank launch joint internship
Gulf Medical University is teaming up with Knight Frank to launch a new internship program for students seeking to kickstart their career in the healthcare consulting domain.
Students at Gulf Medical University who relish a career in the world of management consulting have yet another route to explore, with the university now launching a new internship program with Knight Frank, one of the region’s leading real estate consulting firms.
Gulf Medical University is one of most in-demand private medical universities in the Middle East. Part of its College of Healthcare Management and Economics, the internship is open for students that follow a bachelor or master study.
“This partnership aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, providing students with practical, hands-on experience and exposure to the real-world scenarios within the entire healthcare spectrum,” said Moon Moon Haque, Dean of the College of Healthcare Management and Economics.
Haque added that the university was elated to have signed Knight Frank as a partner for the program, a company he describes as a “leading global professional services firm known for its consultancy and management services across the Middle East and globally.”
The program
The internship program will provide students with experience in topics including healthcare management, strategy and feasibility studies. They will work alongside industry experts at Knight Frank, and receive extensive coaching and mentoring.
“This program offers a unique opportunity for students to bridge theory and practice, immersing themselves in the dynamic realities of the healthcare sector,” said Gireesh Kumar, Associate Partner in the Healthcare wing of Knight Frank.
Cultivating talent
Shehzad Jamal, a partner in the Strategy & Consultancy business of Knight Frank, said the initiative falls under a wider strategy of the firm to cultivate local talent. “We are committed to nurturing Gulf talent and guiding them towards significant achievements. This initiative underscores our belief in empowering the upcoming cohort of leaders in healthcare management and economics, thereby shaping the future of the industry.”
According to recent research from McKinsey & Company, the GCC’s healthcare sector is set for massive transformation in the coming years, due to the convergence of a range of societal, demographic and technological factors. As the sector prepares for its changing future, the need for future leaders who can drive that transition is bigger than ever.
