Industrial Development Group (IDG), one of Egypt’s larger developers and operators of industrial parks, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with DCarbon, a sustainability consultancy.

Through the partnership, DCarbon will support IDG with sustainability advisory services, improving visibility of environmental emissions and highlighting areas for green innovation across its industrial parks.

The Cairo-based consulting firm will also provide hand-on support to the industrial zones through integrated management of energy, water, and waste, leading to a lower carbon footprint, enhanced energy efficiency, and lower operational costs.

Additionally, the partnership also opens the door for IDG to attract sustainable investments aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, backed by certified carbon footprint reports. DCarbon will help IDG gain access to green financing under more favorable terms by demonstrating clear performance indicators for emission reductions, as well as positive relations with local communities and regulators.

“Signing this collaboration with DCarbon reaffirms our commitment to positioning IDG’s industrial parks at the forefront of sustainable industrial development in Egypt and the region,” said Shady William, CEO of Industrial Development Group.

“We are not only providing advanced infrastructure but also offering our partners a true strategic advantage that helps them cut operating costs, comply with the world’s most stringent regulations, gain access to the largest international markets, unlock greater export opportunities, and enhance their long-term competitiveness.”

Commenting on the engagement, Ahmed Belal, CEO of DCarbon, stated: “We are proud to be partnering with IDG, this move represents a strategic step towards setting new benchmarks for carbon emission management and sustainability within Egypt’s industrial zones.”

“Collective action at this scale not only delivers higher efficiency in managing emissions and resources but also empowers Egyptian factories to integrate into global value chains, secure access to green financing, and transform sustainability into a tangible economic advantage.”

Founded in 2015, DCarbon is one of Egypt’s leading sustainability consultancies. The firm also delivers projects in the GCC, mainly in Qatar and the UAE.
