Ahmed Yasen Jifri and Alaa Fayed join senior team of Grant Thornton in KSA

Grant Thornton has strengthened its senior team in Saudi Arabia with Ahmed Yasen Jifri and Alaa Fayed.

Arriving from KPMG, Ahmed Yasen Jifri brings over a decade of professional experience in audit and assurance to Grant Thornton. He advises and supports clients across Saudi Arabia with financial reporting and regulatory compliance solutions.

A Certified Public Accountant accredited by the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA), Ahmed has led audit engagements across a broad range of industries, including financial services, asset management, real estate, hospitality, and retail/consumer sectors. His expertise covers digital audit, IFRS-based reporting, internal controls, and audit quality management.

During his decade at KPMG, he grew the ranks to Associate Director level. Outside of his client work, Ahmed is a strong advocate of data analytics, technology-driven solutions and innovation.

Alaa Fayed meanwhile brings over 20 years of experience across the Middle East, including senior roles at three Big Four firms – EY, KPMG, and PwC. He has experience in accounting, assurance, and enterprise asset management, specialising in financial reporting, IFRS, and the implementation of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Alaa was Head of Finance and Accounting Advisory services at JBR, a homegrown Saudi accounting firm. Earlier in his career, he also worked for two mid-market international groups: Moore and Forvis Mazars.

In Saudi Arabia, Grant Thornton has a heritage that goes back more than 30 years. The firm currently has a team of over 200 professionals with offices in major cities such as Jeddah, Riyadh and Al Khobar.
