Odeabank collaborates with ITGT Consultancy on strategic IT transformation
Turkish commercial bank Odeabank is embarking on a long-term digital transformation journey, with Istanbul-based ITGT Consultancy serving as one of its key delivery partners.
Odeabank provides a broad spectrum of financial services to individuals, businesses, and corporate clients, including retail banking, commercial lending, wealth management, and tailored financial solutions. The bank entered the Turkish banking sector in 2012, and is currently majority owned by ADQ, an Abu Dhabi based investor focused on strategic infrastructure and global supply chains.
Aligned with the bank’s strategic vision, the digital transformation programme aims to elevate the role of the IT function as a driver of business value. Key objectives include repositioning IT as a strategic partner, strengthening business-IT alignment, and accelerating contribution to technology-driven innovation pipelines.
“The programme seeks to move beyond the traditional view of information technology as a purely operational function, towards a strategic enabler,” explains Cantekin Ertekin, managing partner at ITGT Consultancy. “The shift is designed to strengthen Odeabank’s long-term competitive position by transforming IT from a support unit into a strategic value centre that drives tangible business outcomes.”
Brought on board in the early phase of the programme, ITGT Consultancy has provided specialised advisory and functional expertise. Its consultants have supported the design of the programme, the roadmap, and are now assisting with implementation across the IT function.
“The transformation is being approached by Odeabank as an ongoing, iterative process,” says Ertekin. “We work closely with the bank to ensure that planning, execution, and outcomes remain fully aligned with its vision and business objectives.”
ITGT Consultancy is also actively engaged in managing organisational changes arising from the programme, ensuring impacts are embedded across processes, people, and ways of working. “A core principle of the programme is that technology can enable change, but real transformation occurs when people adopt new ways of working,” adds Ertekin.
