WMSJ joins the Clean Energy Business Council

WMSJ, a sustainability advisory and capacity building firm, has become a MENA partner of the Clean Energy Business Council.

Announced last week by the Clean Energy Business Council, WMSJ has become an Associate Member of the global network. In its role, the firm will collaborate with policymakers and industry stakeholders in MENA to help advance climate planning, sustainable finance, and energy transition initiatives, with a particular focus on clean energy.

WMSJ will also engage with the Climate Finance working group and support learning and development initiatives across the network.

“Through this partnership, we will actively collaborate to design and implement policy-aligned clean energy strategies, support national goals and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), mobilise sustainable investment, and strengthen long-term economic resilience – driving sustainable value creation in a competitive, low-carbon future,” said Waseem Hoeneini, Founder and Managing Partner of WMSJ.

Founded by a team of executives from global Fortune 500 companies, WMSJ brings together expertise across strategy, corporate finance, marketing, operations, technology, human capital, risk, governance, and health & safety, serving businesses across industries. The firm supports organisations with strategic development, governance enhancement, and investor-grade assurance for green finance and transition initiatives.

Operating across the Middle East, WMSJ has earned several notable recognitions in the sustainability field. This includes being the first and only Arab firm to serve as an official supporter of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (UN SSE), being a Consultant Content Programme Member, Alliance Organization and Official Education Licensee of the International Financial Reporting Standards IFRS Sustainability, and a Certified Training Partner of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The shift to clean energy

Hoeneini said the collaboration comes at a time when clean energy is rapidly becoming a strategic priority for governments and businesses alike, not only from an environmental perspective, but also as a driver of economic resilience and energy security.

“Clean energy is a key enabler of the transition to a low-carbon economy, while also supporting sustainable economic development and safeguarding long-term energy security,” he said. “By prioritising clean energy initiatives, both the Clean Energy Business Council and WMSJ are committed to creating long-term opportunities rooted in a sustainable, low-carbon future.”
