Anas Orfali (Pure Sports) named Chairman of Saudi Jiu-Jitsu Federation

The Saudi Jiu-Jitsu Federation has appointed Anas Orfali, Managing Partner of Pure Sports, as its new Chairman.

Founded in 2018, the Saudi Jiu‑Jitsu Federation is the official governing body for jiu‑jitsu in the Kingdom, tasked with promoting and developing the sport nationwide and representing Saudi Arabia in international competition. The federation oversees national championships, supports athlete development, and is a member of major regional and global jiu‑jitsu organisations.

Under its stewardship, Saudi Arabia’s national team has lifted its performance at international events and raised the sport’s profile both domestically and abroad.

Illustrating this success, at the 2025 World Championship in Bangkok, held in Thailand from 1-7 November, the Saudi national team won six medals. Shortly thereafter, at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, held in Riyadh from 7-21 November, Saudi jiu-jitsu athletes claimed two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals – marking one of the federation’s most significant achievements in history.

These successes reflect the rapid growth of jiu-jitsu in the Kingdom and the federation’s leadership in building a strong technical ecosystem, developing national talent, and enhancing readiness for high-level competition.

New Chairman: Anas Orfali

With ambitions to reach even greater heights, the federation has appointed Anas Orfali as Chairman. Orfali is the Managing Partner of Pure Sports – an award-winning sports consulting firm – and brings over 16 years of experience in consulting, business management, and sports operations. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Arena Group, a Saudi health and wellness company, and worked as a consultant at a Big Four firm.

Orfali will lead the federation into its next chapter, with key objectives including driving success in professional competitions, nurturing the next generation of athletes, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s presence on the global stage, and growing jiu-jitsu’s contribution to the Kingdom’s broader sports strategy.

Looking ahead, a key milestone for Saudi jiu-jitsu athletes in 2026 will be the World Jiu Jitsu Championship, scheduled for September in Tokyo.
