The 9th Annual Middle East Banking Innovation Summit kicks off this week – with global tech advisory Synechron among the event sponsors.

It’s conference season in the Emirates, with a number of large-scale events set to take place in the coming fortnight, including the artificial intelligence Artelligence Forum in Dubai (with PwC serving as official knowledge partner), the Corporate Restructuring Summit (with guest speakers from sponsors Roland Berger, Kroll and Deloitte), and the World Energy Council’s flagship World Energy Congress to convene in Abu Dhabi – with Ernst & Young on board as its platinum sponsor.

Also on the schedule, over the 3rd and the 4th in Dubai, is this week’s 9th Annual Middle East Banking Innovation Summit – with support from global business consulting and tech services firm Synechron as an official networking partner. The Summit is the largest banking technology platform in the region, and will bring together more than 450 senior finance leaders and fintech experts for discussions on emerging industry trends, regulations, and disruptive technologies.

Synechron returns to the Summit after an appearance last year, and will again lend its experts for demonstrations and addresses on innovations in digital banking and how to develop an enterprise data strategy. The firm will also share information on its local FinLab and latest suite of finance sector Accelerator Programs for artificial intelligence, data science, regtech, chatbot and blockchain solutions among others which were launched in Dubai toward the end of last year.

Earlier this month, the firm’s AI Data Science Accelerator Program was awarded ‘Best Artificial Intelligence Initiative’ at industry platform the Financial Technologies Forum’s Innovation Awards – bestowed on the “industry participant that has done the most to advance operations via Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning initiatives.” It adds to the more than three dozen awards the firm has received since the start of last year, including at the 2019 BIG Innovation Awards.

“Innovation is a key focus for Synechron, and we are honored to be recognised by The Business Intelligence Group for leading the industry with our Data Science Accelerators,” said Synechron CEO Faisal Husain at the time. “We work with the world’s largest banks and insurance companies, and they have entrusted us with guiding their businesses on how to apply emerging technology to their digital transformation roadmaps. This is a responsibility we take seriously.”

The Middle East Banking Innovation Summit will altogether feature more than twenty sessions and panel discussions on contemporary corporate and retail banking subjects such as the power of personalisation, profitable and unprofitable customer growth, data-driven transformations, and the next wave of digitalisation, with a host of high-profile industry speakers set to grace the stage – including a number of executives and experts from IBM, the event’s lead sponsor.

Anthony Butler, Chief Technology Officer and Blockchain Services Leader for IBM in Middle East and Africa, will kick off proceedings on day one with a welcome address on “How new technologies will change and shape the banking industry and the future of banking,” while Butler’s colleagues and various IBM practice leaders Yousef Abdul Qader, Manuel Alonso, Iqbal Alikhan, and Pawel Stefanski will also appear throughout the course of the conference.
