Pure Sports leader explores the future of data-native sporting ecosystems at LEAP 2026

At LEAP 2026, Anas Orfali of Pure Sports joined a panel discussion with leaders from sports landscape, sharing his perspective on how data and technology can help advance the sector and unlock new opportunities across the ecosystem.

The panel discussion “Building Data-Native Sporting Ecosystems”, part of the Sports track, explored how data can strengthen decision-making, connect capabilities across the sports ecosystem and support the continued growth and professionalization of the sector.

The panel brought together leaders from the sports industry, including Anas Orfali, Managing Partner at Pure Sports, a Saudi sports consultancy and agency.

During the panel, Orfali discussed the role of data and technology across the sector, from governing bodies and sports organizations to professional teams and grassroots programs. A more data-driven approach can help organizations make better-informed decisions, improve performance and build more connected sporting ecosystems.

A key theme was the shift toward becoming truly data-native. Rather than treating data as a by-product of sporting activity, data-native organizations build it into their decision-making, operations and strategy from the outset. This means connecting information across teams, organizations and the wider ecosystem, and turning fragmented data into insights that can inform action.

The power of collaboration

Orfali also joined Fergus Bell, Co-founder and Managing Partner at The Players Fund, for a fireside chat titled “The Power of Collaborations in Bridging Sporting Ecosystems”. He participated as Joint Managing Partner at PURE SENT, a joint venture between Pure Sports and SENT, the owner of Como 1907.

The discussion explored how collaboration can connect sporting ecosystems and create new opportunities for growth. It highlighted the partnership between PURE SENT and The Players Fund, which aims to bring global venture and innovation expertise into the Saudi sporting ecosystem.

Through the partnership, clubs and rightsholders can gain access to emerging technologies and investment opportunities, while exploring how to unlock the potential of their strategic assets and create long-term value.
