Utku ÖZ added to Arthur D. Little partnership ranks in Istanbul
Global management consultancy Arthur D. Little has appointed former McKinsey consultant Utku ÖZ as a partner in Turkey.
The Istanbul office of global management consultancy Arthur D. Little has welcomed former McKinsey & Company associate principal Utku ÖZ to its partnership ranks in Turkey, with ÖZ brought in to lead and develop the firm’s Financial Services and Analytics practice across Eastern Europe and the Middle East. ÖZ brings over 15 years of strategy consulting experience to his new senior position.
“I am delighted to join ADL and help clients create value with data, innovative tools and techniques,” ÖZ stated. “I look forward to using my skills and experiences in digital and analytics to provide value to clients during these unprecedented times. ADL has shown a great commitment to developing its capabilities in both the financial services and analytics domains, and I look forward to taking on this new challenge.”
A BSc. graduate in industrial engineering from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, ÖZ kicked off his career in an internal sales consultant role with Proctor & Gamble, before joining management consulting firm Value Partners in 2007 – where over six years he served banks, telecoms and media companies in Turkey and Europe and rose to the level of senior engagement manager. He then joined McKinsey in Turkey.
As part of global consulting giant’s financial services and telecoms leadership in Istanbul, ÖZ led the establishment of the local office’s data science team, and has over the course of his career developed expertise in advanced analytics transformations, artificial intelligence and machine-learning use-case deployment, and sales and service models in the banking and telecom sectors among other areas.
Spending altogether close to six and a half years with McKinsey, ÖZ has in addition to financial services and telecoms gained experience in retail and manufacturing, with a general focus on sales, marketing, digital and analytics. ÖZ is also a founder of computer software firm sales-flex, and according to his bio voluntarily supports start-ups in developing AI and automation applications in Turkey.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Utku to the team,” said ADL Turkey Managing Partner Samih Coşkun Baban, a former colleague of ÖZ at Value Partners. He has extensive experience in the digital and analytics domains. His hands-on expertise in applying digital and analytic solutions to business problems will strongly contribute to our ambition of creating ‘data-driven organisations’ for our clients.”
